The Amphibious Ship

The amphibious ship is becoming more important to US global operations for multi-mission operations. Ranging from soft power Haiti-type ops to high intensity ops, the new vertical lift aviation capabilities – the Osprey and F-35B – will enhance the capabilities of the amphib in the years ahead.
