USS Mount Whitney During BALTOPS 2010

Russian navy ship Kaliningrad 102 Ropucha class and amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney are in formation on the second day of the Baltic Operations exercise 2010. This is the 38th iteration of BALTOPS and is intended to improve interoperability with partner nations by conducting realistic training both on land and at sea with the 12 participating nations.

Churchill, stand in formation in front of the HMS Victory, the oldest commissioned warship in the world, before boarding for a frocking ceremony, June 7. Churchill deployed as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group in support of Maritime Security Operations and Theater Security Cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. HST CSG includes Commander, Carrier Strike Group 10 staff, USS Harry S. Truman, Carrier Air Wing Three 3, Commander, Destroyer Squadron 26 staff and German frigate FGS Hessen.
