  • The first photo shows the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer JS Akebono arrives at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, for Rim of the Pacific 2010.
  • The second and third photos show the guided-missile destroyer USS Stetham underway in the western Pacific Ocean. Stetham is assigned to Destroyer Squadron 15 and is participating in Undersea Warfare Exercise.
  • The final photo shows Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) John Elopre from Antelope, Calif., checking for a clear flight path before giving the lift-off signal to the pilot of an HS-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 during a replenishment at sea aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington. George Washington, the Navy’s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, is participating in Undersea Warfare Exercise, an annual bilateral exercise involving the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the U.S. Navy.
