10/29/2010 – A key challenge in Afghanistan is to keep the rotorcraft fleet armed, fueled and operational. Forward Operating Bases or FARPs are key elements for support of the rotorcraft fleet and a key part of the concept of operations. The Afghan logistics support mission is costly and demanding.

As the soldier in the video indicates, “Over the past month our fuel mission has gone from 2,000 gallons of fuel per day to roughly 7,000 gallons a day.”

The video shows soldiers on the ground who are responsible for keeping the helicopters in Afghanistan fueled and armed to help win the War on Terror. The soldiers are stationed at the Forward Army Refueling Point on Forward Operating Base Wilson, Afghanistan.
