Iraqi T-6As


11/18/2010 – Iraqi Air Force pilots took possession of three T-6A aircraft in Amman, Jordan, and flew them to Tikrit, Sept. 21, bringing their total T-6A inventory to 11. The T-6A is a single-engine, two-seat training aircraft designed for providing instruction in advanced flying skills.

  • The second photo shows a T6 Texan II aircraft moving toward its parking spot upon landing at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, near Tikrit, Iraq, Sept. 21. The aircraft, which is used for training purposes by Iraqi pilot students, arrived with two other T6 model aircraft and is in addition to the eight T6 models currently at COB Speicher, with four more arriving in November, equaling a total number of 15 T6 models on base.
  • The third photo shows the same aircraft being parked and preparing to shut down after landing.
  • The fourth photo shows crew members securing proper parking positions for three T6 Texan II aircraft after they land.
