The Iraqi Air Force had its largest participation in the Iraqi Army Day Parade since it was reestablished. On Jan. 6, 2011, twenty aircraft flew over the parade field. All were piloted by Iraqis. To begin the parade, Iraq Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki laid a wreath at the memorial to the unknown soldier.
