10/27/2011 In this great photo of an A400M operating over water, the plane is being tested obviously for operating in a stringent environment.
According to the Airbus Military press release:
During the tests at Istres, France the aircraft travelled through troughs containing 2-6cm of water at speeds up to 90kt in take-off and landing configurations, including operations with reverse thrust.
The aircraft performed satisfactorily and no water was ingested into the engines.
