Repositioning USMC- What is the US Military’s New Strategy?

Some main points to the presentation are as follows:

The USMC is strengthening links by holding joint operations with allies and friendly countries such as Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, as well as Indonesia.  It is seen to strengthen its ability to deal with contingencies by cooperating with other countries without having to increase troop size…..

In a one-year period, the Marines in Okinawa have participated in over seventy exercises in the Asia Pacific region.

We are publishing a series on the evolution of Japanese defense and security policy and this video and some others provided by NHK provides a Japanese perspective on some of the Pacific strategy issues facing the U.S. and its allies in the decade ahead.
