09/11/2017: The Afghan Air Force in Mazar-e-Sharif, Northern Afghanistan, has grown increasingly independent, launching on and completing missions on a daily basis.
In the course of the last 12 months, the Afghan Air Force effectively incorporated A-29 aircraft and MD-530 helicopters in daily operations, aided by Afghan Tactical Air Controllers that embed into Army units – successfully integrating command and control, and evolving battlefield success as a direct result of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission, to Train, Advise, and Assist.
