The ALIS System and Globally Supported Operations

2017-07-13 The ALIS or the Autonomic Logistics Information System is a key component of the F-35 fleet management appraoch.

It allows for US and allied aircraft to fly to a global F-35 base and plug into the cloud to provide for support during operations.

A challenge for the US and the allies is to sort through security arrangements so that the system can be leveraged to deliver the global outcome inherent in the aircraft and the program.

A key way ahead would be to develop a common security clearance for US and allied maintainers working on the airplane to allow for cross servicing of US and allied aircraft.

This would be a case of the business model catching up with the technology to deliver the kind of significant expansion in sortie generation rate which is inherent in the aircraft as an air combat system.
