02/05/2013: Marines and Singaporean Guardsmen Conducting Valiant Mark Live Fire Maneuver Training.

U.S. Marines serving with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment and guardsmen of 3rd Battalion Singapore Guards conducting amphibious assault vehicle employment training during Exercise Valiant Mark at Red Beah here.

Valiant Mark is an annual bilateral exercise between the United States Marine Corps and Singaporean Armed Forces. 

During Valiant Mark, both forces rain side-by-side to exchange tactics and improve military relations.

The exercise is being conducted in conjunction with Steel Knight, an annual exercise designed to train the 1st Marine Division for deployment as the ground combat element of a Marine air ground task for.

The focus of the exercise is to ensure the 1st Marine Division if fully prepared to deploy as an expeditionary force across the range of military operations and is capable of responding to any crisis across the world.
