2013-11-12 In a recent video, BGen Paul Kennedy highlighted the formidable challenge facing relief workers and the people of the Philippines in dealing with the post-Typhoon situation.
He is Deputy Commanding General, III Marine Expeditionary Force; and Commanding General, 3D Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
He is leading a forward command element and humanitarian survey team as roughly 100 Marines land in the Philippines to assist the country’s authorities in dealing with the devastation.
The military is a key force in going into the chaos of a major disaster and helping civilian aid agencies to navigate within that chaos to bring relief to the population.
