On June 7, 2012, one day after the D-Day remembrance, Heritage Foundation held an event on the F-35 and allies.
The focus of the meeting was identified as follows:
The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is the stealth fighter of the future for the United States and allies such as Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada. With unsurpassed capabilities in stealth, survivability, agility, and maneuverability, it represents the most dominant platform the world has ever seen.
Yet amidst growing threats in the world and despite a strong alliance for the program, the Obama Administration has decided to dramatically cut the F-35 as part of its cost savings efforts. Not only will this drive up per unit costs for the program, it will deprive allies and U.S. forces alike the proper capabilities to continue to dominate the air.
The speakers for the event were:
Colonel Kevin J. Killea, United States Marine Corps
Dr. Robbin F. Laird , Co-Founder and Senior Analyst, Second Line of Defense
Anthony “Lazer” Lazarski . Military Legislative Assistant, Office of Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK)
